SIM acquires know-how about GC detector EPED

SIM acquired the know-how about an element-specific detector from the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft in Germany. The Echelle Plasma Emission Detector (EPED) can be used for the selective and quantitative determination of sulfur, chlorine, bromine, iodine and fluorine.

 EPED 22

For several years, IMT Innovative Messtechnik distributed the EPED as an alternative to the Atomic Emission Detector (AED). Then further development took place at the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging (IVV). With a powerful camera the sensitivity of the detector could be improved considerably. This 2nd generation GC detector now achieves particularly low detection limits for sulfur and fluorine.
