Zetalif Laser

LIF detection is a very sensitive and selective technique because only compounds which exhibit native fluorescence and such compounds which can be made to fluoresce by forming appropriate derivatives can be detected. Based on their design, Adelis’s Zetalif Fluorescence Detectors provide even higher sensitivity and selectivity.

Fluorescent substances get excited by light of a specific wavelength (excitation wavelength) and then they emit light of lower wavelength (emission wavelength). These both wavelengths allow a very selective detection. Moreover, only little interferences by background noises or other molecules arise during analysis. Because of the high performance and the small spectral range of a laser, measurements are 10 to 100 times more sensitive than conventional fluorescence detectors and up to 100.000 times more sensitive than UV detectors.

Zetalif fluorescence detectors can be coupled with HPLC, fast-LC, capillary-LC, Nano-LC and CE as well as combined with MS detection. Besides, there is a wide range of wavelengths, which can be used for measurements. 13 different interchangeable lasers are available for different wavelength and applications.

There is a special kit available for coupling a LIF detector (high sensitive quantization) with a mass spectrometer (qualitative detection). This kit includes a flexible measuring cell. This can be used to bring the LIF detectors as close as possible to the MS (see figures on the right). The distance between LIF and MS detection becomes very short and the offset-time between both detections gets reduced.
