The SIM-Inlet is a novel type of split/splitless inlet for the GC systems Agilent 8890 /7890 / 6890 / 6850 / 5890:
Gas tubing for carrier gas and septum purge is located in the base of the inlet instead of the usual top mount. This means that tubing is not attached to the cap.
Advantages of the new construction:
- knurled nuts, to fix the septum retainer nut and the upper part of the inlet without a wrench
- inlet topcan be completely detached from the inlet (without disturbing gas tubes)
- easy change of the liner
- easy cleaning and maintenance of the inlet
- gas tubing is not bent at each liner exchange
- no breakage of the tubing which will save you from expensive changes of the inlet top
The same liners are used for the SIM Inlet as for the split/splitless inlet of Agilent Technologies. The SIM Inlet is supplied with pneumatics. If you want to change a split/splitless inlet for a SIM inlet, you can adapt the existing pneumatics.
